GOOD GOVERNANCE:
Removing Bureaucratic Hurdles & highlighting the integrated development model

The third pillar of parliamentary democracy is the bureaucracy. The administration consists of officers and employees working for Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Nagarpalika, Mahanagarpalika and Mantralaya. Whereas, the system of representatives elected by the people from Panchayat to the Parliament is called the government. Good governance is the management run by the administration and the government in coordination.

Democracy has survived for the last 70 years because of good governance. Good governance means immediate and prompt delivery of the Central and State Governments’ benefits until the last person in society. In the past, people were skeptical about the administrations functioning due to the delay in resolving the general public’s problems. However, modern technology in the administration’s work has sped-up the implementation and actions of addressing public issues. Administrative functions in urban and rural areas became transparent, fast and accurate. As a result, cities were transformed into smart cities and villages into smart villages. As the Gram Panchayat’s work is operated online, the Panchayats have become more dynamic and people-oriented. It has bridged the gap between urban and rural. It has also helped to keep a check on corruption, irregularities and frauds. Transparent and speedy governance has doubled the confidence of the citizens in the government and administration. With the effective implementation of development plans, more and more villages are becoming smart villages.
